In his words "...this is really really good. Oh... Wow! this is beautiful. The quality is retained. Well done guys. CIPPR, well done." *2017/2018 MATRICULATION CEREMONY FOR NEWLY ADMITTED STUDENTS HOLDS ON WEDNESDAY, 7TH FEBRUARY, 2018*

The Lagos State University will hold its 2017/2018 Matriculation Exercise for the newly admitted students on Wednesday, 7th February, 2018.

In view of the above, newly admitted students are to pay a sum of *Two Thousand Five Hundred Naira (N2,500.00)* only for Matriculation Gown into Sterling Bank Third Party Account 0006594081 (LASU Branch) from Tuesday, 30th January, 2018.

The bank teller should be used to obtain an official receipt at the Bursary Department. The receipt shall then be presented for collection of Matriculation Gown at their respective Faculty Office from Friday, 2nd February, 2018.Collection of gown ends on Tuesday, 6th February,
2018.

The Matriculation Gown should be returned to the point of collection not later than 4.00p.m. on the day of Matriculation. Failure to return the Matriculation Gown as stated above shall attract penalty of Two Thousand, Five Hundred (N2,500.00) Naira per day.

Also, all Matriculating Students are to entertain their guests at the Matriculation ground. On no account should any matriculating Student host/entertain the guests in any Faculty. Failure to comply with this directive may lead to forfeiture of provisional admission.

FG appoints Attahiru Jega, Distinguished Prof. Peter Okebukola, others to review Nigeria’s University System!...LASU VC CONGRATULATES THE FORMER EX. SEC. NUC

 A former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), Prof Attahiru Jega, has been appointed by the federal government as part of those to review the university system of Nigeria.

Also appointed alongside Jega is a past executive secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC) Prof. Peter Okebukola, the Punch reports.

The appointments were disclosed by the executive secretary of NUC, Prof Abubakar Rasheed, in an interview with journalists in Abuja on Monday, January 8, shortly after he appeared before the Senate committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND to defend the 2018 budget proposed by the commission.

He said: “The NUC has constituted a high-powered committee of very credible senior academics. “Most of the members of this small committee are former vice chancellors, former executive secretaries of the NUC and some had held positions like pro-chancellor, chairman of INEC and minister of education.

“We have given them a six-term reference to help us with the re-positioning of Nigeria’s university system.”

The NUC also described the recent rating of tertiary institutions allegedly done by it as fake.                                                                      In the meantime, the Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University, Prof. 'Lanre Fagbohun has warmly congratulated the former Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), Distinguished Professor Peter Okebukola on his fresh National appointment. Dist. Prof. Peter Okebukola is the Pioneer Chairman of the Lagos State University Quality Assurance Implementation Committee (QAIC).
